THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBANY HAS EXTENDED THE FLOOD
WARNING FOR THE AUSABLE RIVER UNTIL UNTIL 1200 PM EST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...

IN NORTHEAST NEW YORK
          ...NORTHERN ESSEX
          ...SOUTHERN CLINTON

AT 645 PM...THE AUSABLE EAST BRANCH WAS STILL RISING...AT 12.41 FEET.
THAT/S ABOUT 4 INCHES HIGHER THAN IT WAS AT 4 O/CLOCK THIS AFTERNOON.
THE FLOODING WAS A RESULT OF AN ICE JAM...MELTING SNOW...AND LAST
NIGHTS RAIN.
.
THE RIVER/S FLOW WILL CONTINUE TO INCREASE SLOWLY DURING THE
EVENING.

SHOULD THE JAM GIVE WAY...IT/LL RELIEVE SOME OF THE FLOODING AT
AUSABLE FORKS...BUT IT COULD CAUSE SUDDEN FLOODING DOWN RIVER
AT CLINTONVILLE...KEESEVILLE...AND AUSABLE CHASM.

OBEY DIRECTIONS OF YOUR LOCAL OFFICALS...AND DON/T DRIVE OVER
FLOODED ROADS OR BRIDGES.  IF YOUR HOME IS THREATENED BY FLOOD
WATERS...LEAVE IT BEFORE YOUR WAY OUT TO HIGHER GROUND BECOMES
FLOODED.
