THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 530 PM  MDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE
FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF NORTHEAST COLORADO:

     EASTERN SEDGWICK

INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING TOWNS/CITIES:

     JULESBURG AND OVID

THE STORM WAS LOCATED 5 MILES SOUTH OF JULESBURG..WHICH IS 53
MILES EAST OF STERLING.

AT 506 PM SPOTTERS IN JULESBURG REPORTED GOLF BALL SIZED
HAIL.  LIMON RADAR INDICATED THE STORMS TO BE MOVING NORTHEAST
AT 20 MPH...AND SHOULD BE MOVING OUT OF THE STATE BY 530 PM.  

A TORNADO WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR SEDGEWICK COUNTY...AND MUCH OF 
NORTHEAST COLORADO UNTIL 8PM.  STORMS ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING
TORNADOES WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING..SO BE ON THE LOOKOUT AND BE
PREPARED TO MOVE TO A PLACE OF SAFETY IF ONE IS SPOTTED.

PLENTIFUL MOISTURE COMBINED WITH AN UPPER LEVEL SYSTEM MOVING THROUGH
THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING WILL CAUSE THUNDERSTORMS TO DEVELOP.
SOME OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS MAY BECOME SEVERE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING LARGE
HAIL...DAMAGING WINDS...DEADLY LIGHTNING AND POSSIBLY A FEW TORNADOES.

THE AREA WITH THE HIGHEST RISK IS THE NORTHEAST...FROM THE FOOTHILLS
EAST TO THE EASTERN BORDER AND FROM LIMON TO THE NORTHERN BORDER.

...THUNDERSTORMS RUMBLING THROUGH NORTHERN COLORADO...

DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR AT 428PM SHOWED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS IN
EXTREME NORTHEAST LARIMER...EXTREME NORTHWEST WELD OR 7 TO 10 MILES
SOUTH OF CHEYENNE WYOMING.  THESE STORMS CONTAIN SOME HAIL...AND
WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH.  THIS AREA IS IN A TORNADO WATCH
UNTIL 8PM TONIGHT...SO RESIDENTS SHOULD BE ALERT TO THE
POSSIBLE DEVELOPMENT OF TORNADOES.

OTHER STRONG STORMS WERE DETECTED IN EXTREME NORTHEAST COLORADO
IN SEDGEWICK AND PHILLIPS COUNTIES.  THESE STORMS ALSO WILL LIKELY
CONTAIN HAIL AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS.
