THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ROCHESTER HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 630 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
IN SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA
...DODGE...WESTERN OLMSTED
THIS WARNING INCLUDES THE TOWNS OF ROCHESTER...KASSON...AND
DODGE CENTER MINNESOTA.
AT 530 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM JUST
WEST OF ROCHESTER. THE STORM WAS MOVING EAST AT 25 MPH
TOWARD DODGE CENTER...KASSON...AND ROCHESTER.
AT 535 PM CDT ONE INCH HAIL WAS REPORTED 9 MILES WEST OF
ROCHESTER AT BYRON.
THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH YOU SHOULD
PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...LARGE HAIL...AND
DEADLY LIGHTNING. PEOPLE OUTSIDE SHOULD MOVE TO A SHELTER...
PREFERABLY INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING BUT STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.
REMEMBER...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCASSIONALLY DO PRODUCE
