SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PORT ARTHUR TX 705 PM CDT WED JUN 7 1989 A TORNADO WATCH CONTINUES UNTIL MIDNIGHT FOR SOUTHEAST TEXAS. AT 7PM RADAR SHOWED ALL OF THE STRONG THUNDERSTQORMS LOCATED WELL TO THE NORTH OF THE GOLDEN TRIANGLE. THE CLOSEST STORM WAS NEAR LUFKIN. THE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE EAST AT 15 TO 20 MPH AND POSE NO IMMEDIATE THREAT TO THE UPPER TEXAS COAST. DJ
