000 TTAA00 KDRT 070019 COR TORDRT TXC465-070110- BULLETIN - EBS ACTIVATION REQUESTED TORNADO WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DEL RIO TX 716 PM CDT TUE JUN 6 1989 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 810 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY IN SOUTHCENTRAL TEXAS...VAL VERDE. AT 706 PM CDT TWO FUNNEL CLOUDS WAS REPORTED BY THE SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT 30 MILES WEST OF COMSTOCK. MOVEMENT OF THE STORMS WAS TO THE SOUTHEAST AT 10 MPH. A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR VAL VERDE COUNTY UNTIL 1100 PM TONIGHT. IF THREATENING CONDITIONS ARE SIGHTED..BE PREPARED TO MOVE TO A PLACE OF SAFETY IMMEDIATELY. AT 430 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED NO SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS WITHIN VAL VERDE COUNTY. THE CLOSEST SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE OVER A HUNDRED MILES NORTHWEST OF DEL RIO NEAR FORT STOCKTON. THESE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT AROUND 20 MPH. SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAN ANTONIO, TX 440 PM CDT TUE JUN 06 1989 THE NATIONAL SEVERE STORMS FORECAST CENTER HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST TEXAS...INCLUDING EDWARDS COUNTY IN THE WESTERN HILL COUNTRY UNTIL 1100 PM. THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER THE TRANSPECOS REGION THIS EVENING AND MOVE EASTWARD TOWARD EDWARDS COUNTY. SOME STORMS HAVE ALREADY DEVELOPED WEST NEAR SANDERSON. IT WILL BE SEVERAL HOURS BEFORE THESE STORMS COULD REACH EDWARDS COUNTY. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN ANTONIO WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR THESE THUNDERSTORMS AND ISSUE PERIODICAL SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENTS AS THESE STORMS APPROACH THE WESTERN HILL COUNTRY. AT 640 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED AN INTENSE THUNDERSTORM WAS ALONG THE NORTHWEST VAL VERDE COUNTY LINE ABOUT 25 MILES NORTHWEST OF PANDALE CROSSING. ANOTHER INTENSE STORM WAS 60 MILES SOUTHWEST OF DEL RIO IN MEXICO. MOVEMENT OF THE STORMS WAS TO THE SOUTHEAST AT 20 MPH. MOTORISTS TRAVELING IN WEST AND NORTHWEST VAL VERDE COUNTY SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR REDUCED VISIBILITIES AND SLOWER TRAFFIC DUE TO HEAVY RAIN.
