647 PM CDT TUE JUN 6 1989

...A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1100 PM CDT TONIGHT FOR VAL VERDE
COUNTY...

AT 640 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED AN INTENSE THUNDERSTORM WAS ALONG THE
NORTHWEST VAL VERDE COUNTY LINE ABOUT 25 MILES NORTHWEST OF PANDALE
CROSSING. ANOTHER INTENSE STORM WAS 60 MILES SOUTHWEST OF DEL RIO IN
MEXICO. MOVEMENT OF THE STORMS WAS TO THE SOUTHEAST AT 20 MPH.

MOTORISTS TRAVELING IN WEST AND NORTHWEST VAL VERDE COUNTY SHOULD BE
PREPARED FOR REDUCED VISIBILITIES AND SLOWER TRAFFIC DUE TO HEAVY RAIN.

REMEMBER A TORNADO WATCH MEANS THAT THE POSSIBLITY OF SEVERE WEATHER
AND TORNADOES EXIST IN AND NEAR THE WATCH AREpA. IF THREATENING
WEATHER IS SIGHTED TAKE SHELTER IMMEDIATELY.
