...PRELIMENARY STORM SUMMARY FOR TORNADO AT JARRELL AND FLASH
FLOODING OVER SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS...

0432         DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY AUSTIN REPORTED TWO HOUSES
             DESTROYED IN JARRELL BY TORNADO   FROM AUS 8/35
0620         DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY LAMPASAS REPORT EXTENSIVE
             DAMAGE IN JARRELL AND POSSIBLE ONE FATALITY AND SEVERAL
             INJURIES...SEVERAL TRUCKS BLOWN OVER ON I 35.
0742         WEATHER OBSERVER REPORTED DAMAGE ALL OVER THE AREA WITH
             TREES AND POWER LINES DOWN. THE  APRNT FATILITY WAS LADY
             IN MOBILE HOME THAT WAS HIT AND SHE WAS TRAPED UNDER
             WATER BED. ALSO REPORTED THAT SOME TRAFFIC WAS BEGINNING
             MOVE THROUGH THE AREA VERY SLOWLY.
             DAMAGE PATH AT JARRELL HAS BEEN ASSESSED TO BE 1/2 MILE
            WIDE AND 2 MILES LONG.  DEBRIS EXTENDS ABOUT 7 MILES
            DOWNRANGE TO THE NORTHEAST OF CITY.  BETWEEN 5 AND 8
            18 WHEELERS WERE OVERTURNED ALONG IH35 AND MOST POWER
            LINES WERE DOWNED.

1200NOON    AREA WIDE RAINFALLS HAVE RANGED MOSTLY IN THE 2 TO 4
            INCH CATEGORY.  MOST AREA CREEKS...STREAMS AND RUNOFF
            POINTS WERE AT FLOOD LEVEL.
