SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TALLAHASSEE FL 845 PM EDT FRI SEP 9 1988 ...TIDES ARE CURRENTLY SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL AND ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE TONIGHT... REPORTS FROM WAKULLA COUNTY INDICATE THAT TIDES ARE ABOUT 1 TO 2 FEET ABOVE NORMAL AT THIS TIME AND ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE TO 3 TO 4 FEET TONIGHT DUE TO SOUTHERLY WINDS AND HIGH TIDE. THE COAST GUARD AUXILLIARY REPORTED THE WIND FROM THE SOUTHEAST AT 12 MPH AT SHELL POINT DURING THE PAST HOUR. REPORTS FROM OTHER MARINA'S IN WAKULLA COUNTY REPORT TIDES ONE TO TWO FEET ABOVE NORMAL AND ESTIMATE WINDS TO BE SOUTHERLY AT 10 TO 15 MPH. A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM APALACHICOLA TO TARPON SPR^INGS AND SMALL CRAFT SHOULD REMAIN IN PORT FROM APALACHICOLA WESTWARD.
