THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 315 PM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTY

   IN THE WEST CENTRAL PART OF MISSOURI
      VERNON

AT 215 PM CST RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM JUST ENTERING
THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF VERNON COUNTY MISSOURI...40 MILES NOTHWEST
OF JOPLIN MISSOURI.  THE THUNDERSTORM WAS MOVING NORTHEAST 40 MPH.

THE THUNDERSTORM SHOULD TRACK DIRECTLY OVER NEVADA MISSOURI.

THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM.  IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH...PREPARE FOR
DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE HAIL...AND DEADLY LIGHTNING.  PEOPLE OUTSIDE
SHOULD MOVE TO SHELTER...PREFERABLY INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING.  ONCE
INSIDE...STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.

A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA.  REMEMBER...
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES
WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING.  REMAIN CALM BUT BE ALERT TO
RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS.
