OWEN AT 500 PM EST WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 40 MILES EAST OF TERRE HAUTE OR 10 MILES NORTHWEST OF SPENCER. THIS STORM WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 25 MPH. WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING...PEOPLE SHOULD MOVE INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING. DO NOT STAND BY WINDOWS. MOTORISTS SHOULD NOT DRIVE INTO LOW WATER CROSSINGS. SOUTHWEST OF A LINE FROM 35 MILES NORTHWEST OF LAFAYETTE TO 30 MILES NORTHEAST OF LOUISVILLE. SOME CITIES INCLUDED ARE... EVANSVILLE...TERRE HAUTE...CRAWFORDSVILLE ...BEDFORD...BLOOMINGTON AND VINCENNES REMEMBER...A WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE WEATHER IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA. SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INDIANAPOLIS INDIANA 258 PM EST SAT JUN 13 1987 A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 900 PM EST FOR WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST INDIANA AT 250 PM EST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED TWO VERY INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS OVER CENTRAL INDIANA. THE STORMS WERE OVER QUINCY AND GOSPORT...35 TO 40 MILES SOUTHWEST OF INDIANAPOLIS. THESE STORMS WERE PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINS...DANGEROUS LIGHTNING AND POSSIBLY GUSTY WINDS AND SMALL HAIL.
