SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GOODLAND KS 6 PM CDT FRI JUL 17 1987 AT 545 PM CDT MODERATE TO STRONG THUNDERSTORMS AND RAINSHOWERS WERE OVER PARTS OF WEST CENTRAL AND NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS. STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WERE ABOUT 10 MILES WEST OF GOVE AND NEAR STOCKTON KANSAS. HEAVY RAINS HAVE BEEN REPORTED IN THE HAYS AREA WITH POOLING OF WATER ALONG ROADWAYS. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING NORTH AT 15 TO 20 MPH. NO SEVERE WEATHER WAS INDICATED BY RADAR. IF THUNDERSTORMS DO INTENSIFY ADDITIONAL STATEMENTS ARE WARNINGS WILL BE ISSUED. BOYLE
