000 TTAA00 KCOU 051504 SVRCOU MOC015-085-159-051600- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA MO 1004 AM CDT SUN JUL 5 1987 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1100 AM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF CENTRAL MISSOURI...BENTON...HICKORY AND PETTIS AT 955 AM CDT A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WAS LOCATED FROM JUST WEST OF SESALIA TO NEAR HERMITAGE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR BOATERS ON LAKES SHOULD MOVE TO SHELTER IMMEDIATELY. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL PRODUCE DAMAGING WINDS..LARGE HAIL AND DEADLY LIGHTNING. HEAVY RAINS WILL QUICKLY FLOOD SMALL STREAMS AND LOW LYING AmREAS. AT 930 AM A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WAS LOCATED FROM 20 MILES NORTH OF TOPEKA KANSAS TO DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY TO NORTHEASTERN BATES COUNTY.. ABOUT 60 MILES SOUTHEAST OF KANSAS CITY. THIS LINE OF THUNDERSTORM HAS DECREASED IN INTENSITY SINCE 900 AM CDT. THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING THAT WAS IN EFFECT FOR JOHNSON.. WYANDOTTE AND LEAVENWORTH COUNTIES IN EASTERN KANSAS HAS BEEN TERMINATED. THE STORMS THAT PROMPTED THIS WARNING HAVE WEAKENED AND HAVE MOVED THROUGH THESE COUNTIES.
