000 TTAA00 KBUF 171818 SVRBUF NYC013-171930- BULLETIN IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BUFFALO NY 215 PM EDT THU SEP 17 1987 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 330 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES IN WESTERN NEW YORK...CHAUTAUQUA AND ADJACENT WATERS OF LAKE ERIE AT 210 PM BUFFALO WEATHER RADAR SHOWED AN INTENSE THUNDERSTORM NEAR ERIE PENNSYLVANIA. THIS THUNDERSTORM WAS MOVING EAST AT 25 MPH. ERIE WEATHER RECEIVED REPORTS OF GOLF BALL SIZE HAIL WITH THIS STORM. BE ON THE ALERT FOR THUNDERSTORMS ACCOMPANIED BY FREQUENT LIGHTNING.. STRONG DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL. LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN MAY ALSO CAUSE DRAINAGE FLOODING. BE ON THE ALERT FOR THUNDERSTORMS ACCOMPANIED BY FREQUENT LIGHTNING.. STRONG DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL.
