SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MINNEAPOLIS MN
226 AM CDT WED JUN 18 1986

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 330 AM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTY OF

CENTRAL MINNESOTA...WRIGHT

AT 230 AM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED AN AREA OF
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM THE WATKINS AREA OF NORTHEAST
MEEKER COUNTY...AND INTO STEARNS COUNTY NEAR COLD SPRINGS.  THIS
AREA OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WAS 50 TO 70 MILES NORTHWEST OF THE
TWIN CITIES.  THESE THUNDERSTORMS ARE MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 30 TO 35
MILES AN HOUR...AND WILL BE MOVING ACROSS WRIGHT COUNTY BETWEEN
230 AM AND 330 AM.  CITIES AFFECTED ARE ANNANDALE BUFFALO AND
COKATO OF WRIGHT COUNTY.  HAIL OF 3/4 INCH DIAMETER WAS REPORTED
AT WATKINS AT 210 AM.

REMEMBER SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE STRONG DAMAGING WINDS..LARGE
HAIL AND FREQUE"NT LIGHTNING STRIKES. ALSO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN
AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE A TORNADO WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE
WARNING..SO BE ON THE LOOKOUT AND BE PREPARED TO MOVE TO A PLACE OF
SAFETY IF ONE IS SPOTTED.
