000 TTAA00 KLBB 021933 FFWLBB TXC303-107-022230- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED/EBS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LUBBOCK TX 233 PM CDT THU OCT 2 1986 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 530 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF NORTHWEST TEXAS...SOUTHEAST LUBBOCK AND CROSBY AT 225PM RADAR SHOWED THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAINFALL OVER SOUTHEASTERN LUBBOCK AND A LARG/E PORTION OF CROSBY COUNTY PRODUCING RISING WATER CONDITIONS IN BOTH AREAS. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR.

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LUBBOCK TX 905 AM CDT THU OCT 2 1986 THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE SOUTH PLAINS HAVE DECREASED IN AREAL COVERAGE AND INTNESITY DURING THE PAST HOUR. HOWEVER...LIGHT RAINSHOWERS CONTINUE IN THE COUNTIES OF MOTLEY...COTTLE...KING...LYNN AND TERRY. THESE SHOWERS ARE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT AROUND 35 MPH. MORE ATMOSPHERIC MOISTURE IS MOVING INTO WEST TEXAS FROM TWO SOURCES... THE MOISTURE AHEAD OF THE PACIFIC HURRICANE PAINE AND LOW LEVEL WIND FLOW BRINGING MOISTURE IN FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO. THIS COMBINATION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH FRIDAY AND AS A RESULT THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO REDEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON OVER MUCH OF WEST TEXAS AND TO CONTINUE THROUGHOUT TONIGHT AND FRIDAY. THIS WILL BE THE LAST STATEMENT FROM THE LUBBOCK OFFICE UNTIL THUNDER- STORMS REDEVELOP OVER THE SOUTH PLAINS.
