WEATHER RADAR AT 315 PM EDT INDICATED A VERY DANGEROUS STORM 45 MILES NORTHWEST OF LOUISVILLE MOVING THROUGH ORANGE COUNTY EAST OF FRENCH LICK. THE INDIANA STATE POLICE POST IN JASPER HAS CONFIRMED TREES HAVE BEEN KNOCKED DOWN FROM HIGH WINDS FROM THE STORM. THE STORM WAS MOVING EAST AT 30 MPH. SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LOUISVILLE KY 215 PM EDT MON JUN 30 1986 ...NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING OVER OHIO VALLEY THIS AFTERNOON... NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORMS HAVE DEVELOPED OVER PARTS OF KENTUCKY AND SOUTHERN INDIANA. AT 2 PM EDT..OR 1 PM CDT THE STRONGEST STORMS WERE LOCATED ABOUT 50 MILES NORTHWEST OF LOUISVILLE KENTUCKY AND COVERED PARTS OF ORANGE AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES IN INDIANA INCLUDING THE AREA BETWEEN SALEM AND FRENCH LICK. OTHER STRONG STORMS WERE SCATTERED ACROSS CENTRAL KENTUCKY BETWEEN LEXINGTON AND JACKSON. ALL THE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE EAST AT ABOUT 30 MPH. VERY WARM..HUMID AND UNSTABLE AIR WILL REMAIN OVER THE REGION THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THE STORMS WILL ALSO REMAIN SCATTERED ACROSS THE AREA.
