NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NORFOLK NE 832 PM CDT SUN JUN 15 1986 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 930 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY OF NORTHEAST NEBRASKA...MADISON AT 825 PM CDT WEATHER RADAR SHOWED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS 15 WEST NORTHWEST OF NORFOLK NEAR MEADOWGROVE TO 20 MILES SOUTHWEST OF NORFOLK MOVING EASTSOUTHEAST AT 25 MPH. REMEMBER...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN PRODUCE DEADLY WINDS IN EXCESS OF 75 MPH...LARGE HAIL...KILLER LIGHTNING...AND TORRENTIAL RAINS THAT CAN QUICKLY FLOOD A LOW LYING AREA. THESE STORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE A TORNADO WITH LITTLE OR NO WARNING...SO BE ON THE LOOKOUT AND BE PREPARED TO MOVE TO A PLACE OF SAFETY.

A STRONG THUNDERSTORM HAD DEVELOPED 5 MILES NORTHEAST OF ARNOLD NEBRASKA IN CUSTER COUNTY AT 510 PM CDT. THIS WOULD BE ABOUT 35 MILES NORTHEAST OF NORTH PLATTE NEBRASKA. THE THUNDERSTORM WAS MOVING EAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR. PERSONS IN THE VICINITY OF THIS THUNDERSTORM CAN EXPECT SOME BRIEF HEAVY RAIN..SMALL HAIL..AND GUSTY WIND. MEYER
