000 TTAA00 KALO 252224 SVRALO IAC067-252320- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WATERLOO IA 424 PM CST FRI APR 25 1986 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 520 PM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY OF NORTH CENTRAL IOWA...FLOYD AT 4230 PM CST RADAR SHOWED SHOWED A POSSIBLE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 5 MILES SOUTHWEST OF MARBLE ROCK WHICH IS 35 MILES NORTHWEST OF WATERLOO IOWA. THIS STORM IS MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 40 MILES AN HOUR. THIS THUNDERSTORM WILL LIKELY PRODUCE WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH AND HAIL 3/4 INCH OR LARGER IN DIAMETER. REMEMBER..BESIDES LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS..SEVERE THVUNDERSTORMS CAN ALSO PRODUCE TORNADOES.

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DES MOINES IA 400 PM CST FRI APR 25 1986 ..STRONG WINDS IN WESTERN IOWA.. WHILE CONDITIONS ARE QUITE WINDY ALL ACROSS IOWA THIS AFTERNOON.. THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE IN WESTERN IOWA. WINDS GUSTS OF OVER 65 MPH HAVE OCCURRED IN THE CARROLL AREA SINCE 300 PM..AND VERY STRONG AND GUSTY WINDS ARE MOST PREVALENT IN WEST CENTRAL AND NORTHWEST IOWA. AT 244 PM A WIND GUST OF 51 MPH WAS RECORDED AT SIOUX CITY. THESE WINDS ARE NOT ASSOCIATED WITH ANY THUNDERSTORMS..BUT ARE THE RESULT OF A LOW PRESSURE AREA MOVING ACROSS NEBRASKA AND SOUTH DAKOTA.
