SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DODGE CITY KS 525 PM CDT SUN SEP 28 1986 AT 515 PM CDT A BROAD LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS IN SOUTHWEST KANSAS EXTENDS FROM WESTERN HODGEMAN COUNTY ACROSS FINNEY COUNTY...SOUTH/ WESTWARD ...THROUGH HASKELL...GRANT...AND STEVENS COUNTIES INTO THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE STATE. AT THE PRESENT TIME STRONGEST STORMS ARE IN FINNEY COUNTY. SHORTLY AFTER 5PM CDT HEAVY RAIN... LIMITING VISIBILITY BRIEFLY TO 1/2 MILE...AND WINDS GUSTING TO 53MPH...WERE REPORTED FROM THE AIRPORT AT GARDEN CITY. THIS LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS IS MOVING SLOWLY TO THE EAST.
