SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHEYENNE WY 100 PM MDT THU AUG 14 1986 A STRONG THUNDERSTORM HAS DEVELOPED NEAR LARAMIE PEAK IN SOUTHEAST WYOMING...SOME 80 MILES NORTHWEST OF CHEYENNE. THE STORM WAS LOCATED IN THE MOUNTAINS AND NOT THREATENING ANY TOWNS. IT WAS MOVING EAST AT 15 TO 20 MILES AN HOUR AND COULD AFFECT THE WHEATLAND AREA AFTER 2 PM. STRONG GUSTY WINDS...BRIEF HEAVY RAIN...AND SMALL HAIL ARE POSSIBLE WITH THIS STORM AS IT MOVES INTO WEST CENTRAL PLATTE COUNTY. A FEW OF THESE STORMS COULD CONTAIN BRIEF HEAVY RAIN AND SMALL HAIL. STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND LIGHTNING ARE ALSO POSSILBLE WITH THE STORMS. WIDELY SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED IN SOUTHEAST WYOMfING UNTIL SUNSET. PEA SIZE HAIL WAS REPORTED AT ALBIN OR 60 MILES NORTHEAST OF CHEYENNE AT 330PM MDT.
