SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHEYENNE WY 100 PM MDT THU AUG 14 1986 A STRONG THUNDERSTORM HAS DEVELOPED NEAR LARAMIE PEAK IN SOUTHEAST WYOMING...SOME 80 MILES NORTHWEST OF CHEYENNE. THE STORM WAS LOCATED IN THE MOUNTAINS AND NOT THREATENING ANY TOWNS. IT WAS MOVING EAST AT 15 TO 20 MILES AN HOUR AND COULD AFFECT THE WHEATLAND AREA AFTER 2 PM. STRONG GUSTY WINDS...BRIEF HEAVY RAIN...AND SMALL HAIL ARE POSSIBLE WITH THIS STORM AS IT MOVES INTO WEST CENTRAL PLATTE COUNTY. OTHER THUNDERSTORMS...MOST OF THEM RATHER WEAK...WERE DEVELOPING ALONG THE LARAMIE MOUNTAINS IN SOUTHEAST WYOMING. THESE WERE ALSO MOVING EAST AT ABOUT 15 TO 20 MILES AN HOUR. DASELER
