FLASH FLOOD WARNING
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHEYENNE WY
900 AM MDT WED JUN 11 1986

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS EXTENDED THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING
UNTIL 3 PM FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF

SOUTHEAST WYOMING..NORTHWEST ALBANY AND NORTHEAST CARBON.

HIGH WATER CONTINUES TO PLAGUE MOST OF ROCK CREEK FROM THE TOWN OF ROCK
RIVER WEST TO WHERE ROCK CREEK FLOWS INTO THE MEDICINE BOW RIVER JUST
EAST OF THE TOWN OF MEDICINE BOW.  THE AREA OF CONCERN IS ABOUT 50
MILES NORTHWEST OF LARAMIE.

WATER WAS STILL OVER U.S. HIGHWAY 30 BETWEEN ROCK RIVER AND MEDICINE
BOW AT 830 AM.  SOME RANCHES ALONG ROCK CREEK HAVE BEEN EVACUATED.

THE FLOOD CREST WAS HEADING WEST TOWARD THE TOWN OF MEDICINE BOW...BUT
IT WAS ABOUT 4 FEET HIGH AND DECREASING VERY SLOWLY.

PEOPLE ALONG ROCK CREEK AND THE MEDICINE BOW RIVER SHOULD BE PREPARED
TO MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IF RISING WATER IS ENC#OUNTERED.  THIS IS
STILL A DANGEROUS SITUATION.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE ACROSS ANY
FLOODED ROADWAYS AS YOUR VEHICLE COULD BE QUICKLY SWEPT DOWNSTREAM.
