000 TTAA00 KBHM 312040 SVRBHM ALC009-115-312140- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BIRMINGHAM AL 345 PM CDT THU JUL 31 1986 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 445 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES IN ALABAMA... BLOUNT...SAINT CLAIR AT 340 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS OVER NORTHERN BLOUNT COUNTY...AND THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS OVER ETOWAH COUNTY WERE MOVING INTO ST CLAIR COUNTY. THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING TOWARD THE SOUTH AT 30 MILES AN HOUR. THESE THUNDERSTORMS HAVE ALREADY PRODUCED STRONG GUSTY WINDS...BASEBALL SIZE HAIL ALONG WITH SOME DAMAGE AS THEY MOVED THROUGH MARSHALL COUNTY. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM IS DEFINED AS HAVING WINDS OF 58 MPH OR STRONGER AND/OR HAIL 3/4 INCH IN DIAMETER OR GREATER.
