The Interagency Fire Perimeter History holds 346 mapped wildfires from 1969, covering 4,521,576 acres. 82 fires reached 1,000 acres or more in at least one record; the largest was the Holanada Creek Fire in Alaska, at 614,643 acres. For 1969 the record is what forests, parks and agencies mapped and kept, not every fire that burned.
