Greatest 24-Hour Precipitation
The Harbeson value replaced the previously reported record of 8.5 inches, set at Dover on 13 July 1975. However, the SCEC reviewing the Harbeson record determined that the Dover record had actually been exceeded twice between 1975 and the Harbeson event, during Tropical Storms Floyd (1999) and Irene (2011).
