The eruptive events began at 14:10 (UTC) on 4 July and, until 5 July included lava flows, mass wasting events, pyroclastic density currents, the opening of new vents, and the generation of small tsunami waves. (reference #14236)
On 11 July, at 12:08 UTC, a paroxysmal eruption occurred from the N crater area, producing an ash plume 5 km high, which dispersed towards the southwest. Shortly after, a pyroclastic flow rapidly advanced along the Sciara del Fuoco, which triggered a small-scale tsunami wave. (reference #14237)
