The earthquake in the West Irian region generated a local tsunami on the islands of Biak and Yapen. The waves killed 100 and destroyed 400 houses on Yapen. Two meter waves were reported from Biak. (Reference #45) [this report is not confirmed by any other reports so may be erroneous]
