There is uncertainty as to whether the 15 September 1751 event is a separate event or another account of this 21 November event. Lander et al. (Reference #537) writes: "A violent shock at Port-au-Prince, Haiti, caused a twenty-league (96 km) section of the coast to fall into the sea. No tsunami was reported" and refers to Mallet (Reference #521).
