   Light damage. Surface peeled off some roofs, gutters and siding damaged, branches broken, shallow-rooted trees pushed over.

   Moderate damage. Roofs badly stripped, mobile homes overturned or badly damaged, exterior doors lost, windows broken.

   Considerable damage. Roofs torn off well-built houses, frame homes shifted on their foundations, mobile homes destroyed, large trees snapped or uprooted, cars lifted off the ground.

   Severe damage. Whole stories of well-built houses destroyed, large buildings badly damaged, trains overturned, trees debarked, heavy cars lifted and thrown.

Another cold front stalled across north Texas, leading to favorable conditions for thunderstorms and severe weather. The front, which stalled just south of the Red River, began to move slowly southeast during the night of the 19th and led to numerous severe weather reports across Wise, Jack, and Palo Pinto Counties.

Amateur radio operators reported the second of two tornadoes, this one skipping through part of the city of Mineral Wells, including the downtown area. The tornado was strongest as it approached from the southwest of town, and the tornado was at its widest during this time. Outside of town, numerous trees, storage buildings, and covered parking areas were damaged. In town, several buildings lost part of their roofs, while trees, carports, and storage buildings were damaged or destroyed.

The county was under a tornado watch, issued at 22:56 UTC and running to 04:51 UTC.
