This F0 tornado ran 1.5 miles across Cameron Parish on December 15, 1996, touching down at 3:45 PM CST and reaching 100 yards wide. It killed nobody, and did $30,000 of property damage.

Devastating damage. Well-built houses leveled, structures with weak foundations moved some distance, cars thrown and large missiles generated.

Incredible damage. Strong frame houses swept off their foundations, car-sized missiles thrown more than 100 meters, steel-reinforced concrete badly damaged, high-rise buildings deformed.

What the Weather Service recorded
A small tornado touched down on the south side of Highway 27, in Creole. One home and one barn lost sections of their roofs. Another two homes and one barn sustained minor damage from debris flying into the side of the buildings. A truck passing by on Highway 27 received a broken windshield when debris struck it. No injuries were reported.
