- Winter Storm in West Virginia, February 3 to 6, 1998A slow moving coastal storm in conjunction with easterly winds aloft, caused several periods of wet snow, sleet, and rain. The snow fell mostly from the 3rd into the 4th and again late on the 5th into the 6th.
- Winter Storm in West Virginia, February 14 to 18, 2003A complex storm system produced copious amounts of wintery precipitation across the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia between the evening of the 14th and midday on the 18th.
- Winter Storm and Flood in West Virginia, February 21, 2015After the arctic deep freeze at dawn on the 20th, snow, sleet, and freezing rain spread over West Virginia between 0300E and 0600E on the 21st. Luckily, it was a Saturday, and travel was limited. A widespread variation of snow totals resulted.
- Winter Storm in West Virginia, February 16 to 17, 2003Heavy rains of the 14th into the 15th changed to sleet and freezing rain, then ended as snow. Accumulations of freezing rain were at least a quarter of an inch, but sleet and snow resulted in the final accumulation of 1 to 4 inches.
- Winter Storm in West Virginia, January 27 to 28, 2009Snow moved up the Ohio River Valley and overspread West Virginia during the predawn hours of Tuesday the 27th. The snow quickly accumulated 2 to 6 inches by late morning.
- Ice Storm and Winter Storm in West Virginia, February 15 to 16, 2021A second ice storm impacted the Tri-State region of Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia within a span of a week.
- Winter Storm and Heavy Snow in West Virginia, February 17 to 18, 2021A third winter storm in a short span of time impacted West Virginia with snow and freezing rain, this time on February 17th through the 18th.
- Ice Storm and Winter Storm in West Virginia, February 5 to 7, 2004Rains of 1.5 to 2.5 inches fell in 12 to 18 hours from the 5th into the 6th. Water from small streams flooded roads. Mudslides also occurred. Later, minor river flooding occurred along the Tygart Valley River basin, including the Buckhannon River.
- Winter Storm and Winter Weather in West Virginia, February 10 to 12, 2021A high impact event affected West Virginia beginning on the morning of February 10th, as a wave of precipitation pressed into the area in response to a stationary boundary in close proximity.

- Winter Storm in West Virginia, January 13 to 15, 1999A powerful winter storm brought another combination of snow and freezing rain to all of northern West Virginia. The precipitation began as a mix of snow and freezing rain across the panhandle counties, and as freezing rain across the remainder of northern West Virginia.
- Winter Storm and High Wind in West Virginia, October 28 to 31, 2012Hurricane Sandy moved north off the Atlantic Coast and combined with a complex low pressure system and deepening trough over the eastern part of the U.S., and then turned west northwest and into New Jersey into Pennsylvania, slowing down and then drifting north.
- Winter Storm in West Virginia, October 25 to 26, 2005The first snowfall of the season in the higher elevations was a significant one. A swath of heavy snow fell across portions of West Virginia, western Maryland, and western Virginia. Some snow amounts topped one foot.
- Winter Storm and Flooding in West Virginia, January 24 to 26, 2026A significant winter storm brought a mix of wintry precipitation to the area from the afternoon of January 24th into the 26th.
- Flash Flood and Winter Storm in West Virginia, March 21 to 22, 2001A Nor'easter moved from the North Carolina Coast to New England from the 20th to the 22nd. As it passed by the Mid Atlantic region, it dropped heavy precipitation between midnight and mid afternoon on the 21st.
- Winter Storm and Debris Flow in West Virginia, March 2 to 3, 2014A strong north to south temperature gradient existed in the Ohio Valley as a cold front gradually sank south. Around dawn on the 2nd, the front sliced through West Virginia, near Clarksburg on southwest toward Huntington.
- Winter Storm and Flooding in West Virginia, February 5 to 6, 2010A continuous rain on Friday the 5th became heavier in the evening over the southwestern counties of West Virginia. Twelve hour rains of over an inch caused minor stream flooding along roads across portions of Lincoln, Putnam, Cabell, Kanawha, Roane, Jackson, Mason, and Calhoun.
- Winter Storm in West Virginia, January 2 to 3, 1999A strong winter storm approached the region from the south central U.S., bringing a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain to northern West Virginia. Snowfall amounts of between 2 and 3 inches were reported across the panhandle counties during the day of the 2nd.
- Winter Storm in West Virginia, March 20 to 21, 2018An area of low pressure progressed from the Tennessee Valley to the east coast, and then farther northeast to off the New England Coast. The impact on the region was first widespread rain.
- Winter Storm and Heavy Snow in West Virginia, January 16 to 17, 2022A complex winter storm brought a mixture of rain, sleet and freezing rain to most of the region, with snow in the mountains, on Sunday January 16th.
- Winter Storm and Winter Weather in West Virginia, February 11 to 12, 2025A complex weather system first arrived into southwestern West Virginia just before dawn on February 11th and brought a combination of accumulating snow, freezing rain, and rain to the state.
- Winter Storm in West Virginia, January 5 to 7, 2025A significant winter storm brought a mix of precipitation to West Virginia from January 5th to 7th and imposed accumulating ice and snow accumulations as a result.
- Winter Storm and Avalanche in West Virginia, February 21 to 22, 2015Right on the heels of the second surge of bitterly, record cold air to affect the forecast area within the same week and only five days since the previous significant snow storm, yet another significant winter storm impacted the forecast area.
- Winter Storm and Damaging Winds in West Virginia, March 3 to 4, 1999A low pressure system moved from West Virginia to Pennsylvania on the evening of the 3rd. This system produced sustained winds of 25 to 40 MPH from the afternoon of the 3rd through the morning of the 4th.
