Ranked by deaths, injuries, damage and size together.
- Drought in Utah, December 1 to 31, 2002Occasional storms brought precipitation to much of extreme eastern Utah during the month. However, precipitation amounts were not significant enough to have a major impact on the extreme drought conditions that persisted across the area.
- Drought in Utah, September 1 to 30, 2002Extreme to exceptional drought continued across the eastern quarter of Utah through the month of September. However, periods of rainfall reduced the usage of water across the area, while decreasing the risk of wildfires.
- Drought in Utah, November 1 to 30, 2002An active weather regime early in November maintained near normal river basin precipitation across the area. However, mountain snowpack remained insufficient for improvement, and extreme drought conditions persisted across eastern Utah.
- Drought in Utah, August 1 to 31, 2002Extreme to exceptional drought conditions continued throughout the eastern quarter of Utah during the month of August. Surges of monsoon moisture resulted in occasional rainfall which brought minor relief to extreme southeast Utah.
- Drought in Utah, May 1 to 31, 2002May was the first full month of severe to extreme drought conditions in eastern Utah. The most intense drought classification, exceptional drought conditions, had developed in the southeast corner of the state by the end of the month.
- Drought in Utah, June 1 to 30, 2002Extreme to exceptional drought conditions prevailed across eastern Utah in June, with a negative impact on agricultural interests and the recreation industry. Most seasonal streams had become dry by early June. The persistent drought increased the potential for major wildfires.
- Drought in Utah, July 1 to 31, 2002Extreme to exceptional drought conditions continued throughout the eastern quarter of Utah during the month of July. The persistent drought continued to heighten the risk of wildfires and caused problems for agricultural interests.
- Drought in Utah, October 1 to 31, 2002The month began with extreme to exceptional drought conditions across eastern Utah.
- Drought in Utah, July 1 to 31, 2003Extreme drought conditions persisted across eastern Utah with an area of exceptional drought in southeast Utah. Although monsoon moisture resulted in thunderstorms and scattered precipitation, rainfall was generally light across the area.
- Drought in Utah, December 1 to 31, 2003A number of winter storms impacted extreme eastern Utah resulting in near normal snowpack by the end of December. One month of near normal snowpack by itself will have little effect on moisture deficits that have accumulated over such a protracted period of time.
- Drought in Utah, November 1 to 30, 2003A major change in the weather pattern brought much cooler and damper conditions to extreme eastern Utah compared to the previous month. A number of storm systems brought significant precipitation to the mountains while light precipitation occurred in the lower valleys.
- Drought in Utah, January 1 to 31, 2003January consisted of below normal precipitation and above normal temperatures across much of extreme eastern Utah. This offered no relief to this drought stricken area. For a continuation on this drought situation, see the February 2003 Storm Data publication.
- Drought in Utah, March 1 to 31, 2003Despite several significant snowfall events in the mountains, extreme drought conditions persisted throughout extreme eastern Utah. Please see the April 2003 Storm Data publication for a continuation of this drought saga.
- Drought in Utah, February 1 to 28, 2003Despite many significant snowfall events in the mountains, extreme drought conditions persisted throughout extreme eastern Utah. Please see the March 2003 Storm Data publication for a continuation of this drought saga.
- Drought in Utah, April 1 to 30, 2003Extreme drought conditions persisted throughout extreme eastern Utah, as precipitation was quite minimal for the month. Please see the May 2003 Storm Data publication for a continuation of this drought saga.
- Drought in Utah, May 1 to 31, 2003Extreme drought conditions persisted during the month throughout the area. Please see the June 2003 Storm Data publication for a continuation of this drought situation.
- Drought in Utah, June 1 to 30, 2003Extreme drought conditions persisted during the month throughout the area. Abnormally dry weather resulted in an area of exceptional drought across extreme southeast Utah. Please see the July 2003 Storm Data publication for a continuation of this drought situation.
- Drought in Utah, September 1 to 30, 2003Precipitation during the first half of the month brought minor drought relief to the extreme southeast portion of Utah. However, extreme to exceptional drought conditions continued across eastern Utah through the month.
- Drought in Utah, October 1 to 31, 2003In general, the month of October consisted of above normal temperatures and below normal precipitation across extreme eastern Utah. This brought no relief to the extreme to exceptional drought conditions across the area.
- Drought in Utah, August 1 to 31, 2003Extreme to exceptional drought continued across extreme eastern Utah through the month.
- Drought in Utah, January 1 to 31, 2004A number of storms moved across eastern Utah during the month resulting in a slight improvement in the protracted drought situation across extreme eastern Utah.
- Drought in Utah, March 1 to 31, 2004March was characterized by much above normal temperatures and much below normal precipitation. This served to keep the drought situation intact across extreme eastern Utah with severe to extreme drought conditions persisting.
- Drought in Utah, February 1 to 29, 2004Substantial and beneficial precipitation fell over much of eastern Utah during the month, with snowpack near normal across most mountains. However, this precipitation had minimal impact on the drought due to cumulative precipitation deficits from the previous several years.
- Drought in Utah, April 1 to 30, 2004A number of spring storms produced significant amounts of rain and snow across extreme eastern Utah during the month. However, the impact on the long-term drought was minor, allowing severe to extreme drought conditions to persist across the area.
- Drought in Utah, May 1 to 31, 2004Little change occurred in the drought situation through the month, with severe to extreme drought conditions persisting. Please see the June 2004 Storm Data publication for a continuation on this drought situation.
