- Marine Strong Wind in South Atlantic Coastal Waters, April 10, 2016A 24-foot boat left Stuart with four boaters in the morning. They encountered high seas just offshore the coast generated by gusty onshore winds and the boat capsized. Three of the four boaters drowned and the fourth person made it to the beach and was rescued.
- Marine Strong Wind in South Atlantic Coastal Waters, March 6, 2026A strong Atlantic high-pressure system produced fresh to strong easterly winds across Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The resulting tight pressure gradient generated choppy to rough seas and a high risk of rip currents across the region.
- Marine Strong Wind in South Atlantic Coastal Waters, July 20, 2010Persistent and strong east winds caused by high pressure north and east of the area produced gusty winds in excess of 30 mph over the Atlantic coastal waters. Wind gusts up to 44 MPH were noted on July 20th.
- Marine Strong Wind in South Atlantic Coastal Waters, January 19, 2013Strong winds produced high seas near and offshore St. Lucie Inlet. A fishing vessel capsized due to the rough conditions and four men were ejected from the boat. One man drowned and three were rescued.
- Marine Strong Wind in South Atlantic Coastal Waters, February 14, 2016Although light north winds prevailed near-shore when a lone mariner departed Port Canaveral during the early morning hours, northeast winds likely became 12-16 knots just offshore, with peak winds near 20 knots, resulting in choppy 4-5 foot seas.
- Marine Strong Wind in South Atlantic Coastal Waters, January 25, 2010A small boat capsized in the Indian River off Pt. St. John in Brevard County, causing all four occupants to fall into the water. The incident occurred after a cold front crossed the region and produced gusty winds, causing seas to become rough.
- Marine Strong Wind in South Atlantic Coastal Waters, February 5, 2016Strong winds developed behind a cold front, resulting in choppy conditions on the Indian River in Brevard County. A houseboat in Melbourne was battered against a sea wall, causing injuries to two occupants.
- Marine Strong Wind in South Atlantic Coastal Waters, May 27 to 30, 2012Beryl developed as a Subtropical Storm over the Atlantic Ocean. The cyclone eventually became a Tropical Storm and slowly moved to the southwest and finally made landfall along the northeast Florida coast.
- Marine Strong Wind in South Atlantic Coastal Waters, May 3, 2013A deepening low pressure system moved from the northern Brevard coastal waters northward and produced gale conditions over the coastal waters and along the coastline. Wind gusts of 45 to 54 mph were common for several hours.
