- Blizzard and Heavy Snow in Rhode Island, February 8 to 9, 2013An historic winter storm deposited tremendous amounts of snow over all of southern New England, mainly from the mid-afternoon on Friday, February 8 and lasting into the daylight hours of Saturday, February 9.
- Blizzard and Heavy Snow in Rhode Island, February 22 to 23, 2026Explosive cyclogenesis of a low pressure center off the Mid Atlantic coast brought a strong winter storm with blizzard conditions to central and eastern Massachusetts as well as Rhode Island on Monday.

- Heavy Snow in Rhode Island, March 9 to 10, 2001A winter storm tracking from the Great Lakes to just south of New England brought heavy snow to northern Providence County. The highest snowfall totals were found in the higher elevations, where 6 to 8 inches of snow fell.
- Heavy Snow in Rhode Island, March 26 to 27, 2001A small but fast moving storm brought heavy snow to Newport County, as it moved off the coast south of Long Island. Snowfall totals of 5 to 7 inches were widely reported.
- Heavy Snow in Rhode Island, February 5, 2016Low pressure traveling along a cold front stalled south of southern New England brought heavy rain, which changed over to heavy snow as temperatures dropped. This snow was extraordinarily wet and heavy, bringing down trees and wires across portions of southern New England.

This brought accumulating snow to areas south of Interstate 90 in Massachusetts, including Connecticut and Rhode Island.

Its path just southeast of Nantucket brought heavy snow to all of southern New England and blizzard conditions and coastal flooding to coastal areas.
- Heavy Snow and High Wind in Rhode Island, March 31, 1997A low pressure system formed off the New Jersey coast during the early morning hours and intensified rapidly as it moved to a position 60 miles south of Newport, Rhode Island by early evening. Pressure falls of 14 millibars occurred during a 12 hour period.
- Coastal Flood and Heavy Snow in Rhode Island, February 8 to 9, 2016A very powerful low pressure system tracked up the east coast, passing southeast of Southern New England. This storm brought heavy snow and gusty winds, resulting in blizzard conditions along the Massachusetts east coast.
- Blizzard and Heavy Snow in Rhode Island, December 19 to 20, 2009Low pressure off the mid-Atlantic coast intensified dramatically resulting in widespread snowfall along the northeast corridor of the U.S.
- Blizzard and Winter Storm in Rhode Island, January 28 to 29, 2022Explosive cyclogenesis of a low pressure center off the Mid Atlantic coast brought a strong winter storm with blizzard conditions to all of southern New England Saturday and Saturday night.
- Heavy Snow in Rhode Island, January 25 to 27, 2026A low pressure moved through the eastern U.S. bringing a plume of deep moisture over top of an arctic airmass which brough 1-2 feet of snow to southern New England Sunday through Tuesday morning. The biggest total was 27 inches in Gloucester, MA.
- Heavy Snow in Rhode Island, January 7 to 8, 1996An intense east coast low pressure system moved northeast from eastern Georgia, passing along the coast of the Carolinas and then close to 40 degrees North and 70 degrees West.
- Heavy Snow and Heavy Rain in Rhode Island, December 7 to 8, 1996A low pressure system centered over Georgia at 7 AM on December 7th moved rapidly northeast across North Carolina. The intensifying system then moved about parallel to the Mid-Atlantic coast with its center reaching Plymouth County in southeast Massachusetts.
- Heavy Snow in Rhode Island, February 2 to 3, 1996A coastal low pressure system brought a heavy snowfall of 6 to 8 inches to many parts of the state.
- Heavy Snow in Rhode Island, March 2, 1996A low pressure system located about 100 miles off the North Caolina coast at 7 AM moved northeast and spread snow across the entire state during the forenoon. The snow became moderate to heavy by noon and continued into the late afternoon and early evening.
- Heavy Snow in Rhode Island, February 25 to 26, 1999A strong low pressure system, which passed about 200 miles southeast of Cape Cod, brought heavy snow to Rhode Island. Over a foot of snow was reported west and north of Providence. The storm closed schools across the state, and created hazardous road conditions.
- Heavy Snow in Rhode Island, March 15, 1999A strong low pressure system, centered off the coast of Virginia during the early morning hours, moved to a position southeast of Nantucket by early afternoon. This system brought a late season snowstorm to all of Rhode Island, with totals of 7 to 12 inches.
- Heavy Snow in Rhode Island, January 20 to 21, 2001Heavy snow fell across all of Rhode Island. The highest snowfall totals were found in Providence, Bristol, and Newport Counties, where as much as 8 inches of snow were recorded.
- Heavy Snow in Rhode Island, February 24 to 25, 2005Low pressure over the Mid Atlantic states strengthened rapidly as it passed southeast of Nantucket, and brought heavy snow to much of southeast New England, including Rhode Island.
