- Winter Storm and Heavy Rain in Pennsylvania, January 13 to 15, 1999A very protracted winter storm affected Eastern Pennsylvania from the 13th through the 15th. A combination of snow, sleet and heavy freezing rain fell across the region. Some heavy rain even fell across Delaware and Philadelphia Counties.
- Tornado and Flash Flooding in Pennsylvania, July 10, 2013A powerful cold front and upper level trough pushed across the Upper Ohio Valley on July 10th producing widespread severe weather and flash flooding from eastern Ohio, northern West Virginia, and western Pennsylvania. This included 3 separate tornadoes.
- Flooding and Heavy Rain in Pennsylvania, November 8 to 9, 2006A slow moving low pressure system that moved from the Gulf of Mexico caused heavy rain to fall during about a twelve hour period on the 8th in Eastern Pennsylvania. Storm totals averaged between 2 and 3 inches. The heavy rain caused urban and poor drainage flooding.
- Tornado and Flash Flooding in Pennsylvania, May 28, 2019Mid-level westerly flow of 45-70kts streamed over the Great Lakes/Upper Ohio Valley. A shortwave trough embedded within this zonal flow entered the region and moved eastward throughout the day, helping to provide forcing for ascent and strengthening of deep layer shear.
- Tornado and Flash Flooding in Pennsylvania, August 9, 2007Three separate mesoscale convective systems moved across Southeast Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, Northern West Virginia, and Garrett county Maryland. Widespread wind damage, flash flooding, and an EF0 tornado occurred during the event.
- Heavy Rain in Pennsylvania, May 19, 1997Heavy thunderstorm rain and some wind weakened the roots of a large tree and the tree fell onto a pickup truck's windshield travelling on Route 66. A 13 year-old passenger was killed by the falling tree.
- Flash Flooding and Heavy Rain in Pennsylvania, June 20 to 21, 2018Heavy rain with little, if any, lightning moved along a stationary front in a tropical environment. Moisture was plentiful, with precipitable water values of over 2 inches.
- Heavy Rain in Pennsylvania, May 25, 1997A series of low pressure systems traveling west to east along a nearly stationary frontal boundary produced some locally heavy rain across Eastern Pennsylvania.
- Flood and Hail in Pennsylvania, July 26 to 27, 2012Multiple lines of severe thunderstorms developed and moved east across the Ohio valley ahead of a strong cold front.
- Flash Flooding and Flooding in Pennsylvania, June 27 to 29, 2013A slow moving line of thunderstorms tied to a surface front dropped several inches of rain over northwest Pennsylvania the morning of the 27th.
- Flooding and Heavy Rain in Pennsylvania, September 7 to 10, 2018Tropical Storm Gordon came ashore along the central Gulf Coast on the night of September 4th. The tropical cyclone dissipated over Missouri by the night of September 7th.
- Flash Flooding and Flooding in Pennsylvania, July 28 to 29, 2017Unusually strong upper low for July dropped from the Great Lakes into western PA. A trowal/deformation zone set up over most of the area outside of southeast Ohio, producing torrential rainfall.
- Flash Flood and Flooding in Pennsylvania, July 1 to 2, 2013An upper level disturbance produced showers and thunderstorms with heavy rainfall across western Pennsylvania and the northern West Virginia Panhandle. Flooding of roadways and areas of poor drainage was reported.
- Flash Flooding and Heavy Rain in Pennsylvania, September 1, 2021The remnant low pressure center of Hurricane Ida passed across West Virginia and the Central Appalachian Mountains from late August 31st through September 1st.
- Flash Flooding and Damaging Winds in Pennsylvania, July 11, 2019A passing shortwave trough and surface cold front brought scattered showers and thunderstorm on July 11th. Increasing shear, building instability, and mid-level dry resulted in a few strong storms across the area.
- Hail and Damaging Winds in Pennsylvania, July 4, 2012Clusters of severe thunderstorms developed across the upper Ohio valley from the afternoon of July 4th into the morning hours of July 5th. Severe weather was reported across eastern Ohio, western Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia, and Garrett county Maryland.
- Flash Flood and Damaging Winds in Pennsylvania, July 5, 2018A very moist and unstable airmass lead to thunderstorms in the northeast ahead of a cold front. PWAT values continued to be high; the PBZ 12Z sounding measured 2.04 inches (this was noted to be the top 5 reading for PWAT of all time).
- Flooding and Strong Wind in Pennsylvania, October 31, 2019A strong mid-level trough swung across the Plains and the Great Lakes on the 31st. The trough took on a negative tilt as it crossed the middle and upper Ohio Valley during the evening.
- Flash Flooding and Flood in Pennsylvania, February 24 to 25, 2016A strong low pressure system moving north through the Great Lakes region, combined with its associated warm front and cold front, copious amounts of moisture, and low level jet, produced strong to severe thunderstorms, heavy rain, flash flooding, and stream flooding in Eastern…
- Flash Flooding and Heavy Rain in Pennsylvania, July 7, 2019A weak cold front brought showers and storms across the region on July 7th. Precipitable water values in the 1.7 to 1.9 inch range, low level wind shear, and saturated soils were the factors which contributed to an environment supportive of flash flooding.
- Tornadoes and Flash Flooding in Pennsylvania, August 21, 2014An upper level wave moving along a stalled front initiated thunderstorms that produced flash flooding and 2 weak tornadoes.
- Flash Flooding and Heavy Rain in Pennsylvania, June 30, 2015In addition to the severe weather, multiple thunderstorms with heavy rain caused flash flooding in the Lehigh Valley and Poconos on the afternoon and evening of the 30th. The flash flooding in the Poconos persisted into July 1st.
- Flash Flooding and Heavy Rain in Pennsylvania, May 8, 2012A slow moving thunderstorm produced flash flooding across portions of Westmoreland county. Up to 3 inches of rain were reported.
- Flash Flooding and Flooding in Pennsylvania, May 28 to 29, 2017Showers and thunderstorms, some of which where severe, developed in a rather unstable environment with modest shear, in the afternoon and evening of the 28th.
- Flash Flooding and Heavy Rain in Pennsylvania, September 1, 2012Low pressure moving across the Upper Ohio Valley produced scattered strong thunderstorms. A few storms contained very heavy rainfall and produced isolated flash flooding.
