- Heat and Hail in North Carolina, July 5 to 25, 1999A strong thunderstorm moved across the western edge of Johnston county....roughly between Angier and the small community of Willow Springs . Golfball hail was reported along its path. The wind destroyed many acres of tobacco crops and blew down barns and damaged farm equipment.
- Heat and Damaging Winds in North Carolina, June 29, 1998A string of several days in the upper 90s to near 100 degrees resulted in the death of an elderly couple when their home's air conditioning failed. The date and time of death was estimated.
- Heat in North Carolina, June 13, 2008A man and a woman were found dead in a trailer on June 16th. It is believed they died on June 13th due to extreme heat. The trailer they were found in had no air conditioning and all the windows were closed despite temperatures well into the 90s.
- Heat in North Carolina, July 20 to 31, 1999A heat wave caused many to require hospital treatment in Columbus County and in neighboring counties in Southeast North Carolina. A farm worker died of heat stroke after hospitalization.
- Heat and Damaging Winds in North Carolina, August 1 to 2, 1999A powerful downburst ...from a thunderstorm whose core was actually in Rowan county...damaged a wide area along High Rock Lake. Many trees were blown down onto piers, homes, and cars.
- Heat in North Carolina, July 28, 1997A 56 YEAR OLD MALE COLLAPSED WHILE WORKING ON THE ROOF OF LAKEWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. HE SUFFERED A HEART ATTACK WHICH OFFICIALS BELIEVE WAS CAUSED BY THE SWELTERING HEAT. TEMPERATURES WERE IN THE MID 90S WITH HEAT INDICES EXCEEDING 100 DEGREES
- Heat in North Carolina, August 8, 2001A 19-year old playing basketball in a non air-conditioned gymnasium collapsed from heat. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital in Morganton.
- Heat in North Carolina, July 19, 2005The body of a migrant worker was found on Walker Farm in Person County. The worker complained of sickness and left the farm around 1130am. The worker was later found dead only a quarter mile away in a creek bed. The heat index by 11am was 103 degrees.
- Heat in North Carolina, July 20, 2005A migrant worker collapsed and died from heat stroke on Harnett County near Erwin. The man collapsed on a tobacco farm and was transported to UNC Hospital where he later died.
- Heat in North Carolina, August 10, 2007Several days of extreme heat with afternoon highs in the upper 90s to lower 100s resulted in numerous heat related injuries across Central North Carolina and one heat related death.
- Heat in North Carolina, May 27, 2008Senior Chad Wiley collapsed after a voluntary football workout on campus Tuesday May 27th. Chad was 22 years old.

- Heat in North Carolina, July 5 to 8, 2012High Pressure centered just to the west of the Middle Atlantic Region produced hot and humid weather over northeast North Carolina from July 5th through July 8th.
- Heat in North Carolina, August 1, 1999Sweltering conditions with temperatures around 100 degrees and high humidity caused a 60 year old woman to lose consciousness while weedeating. She was diagnosed with a heat stroke.
