- Flooding and Heavy Rain in New York, April 15 to 18, 2007Low pressure developed over the lower Mississippi Valley on Saturday April 14th, and then moved northeast while intensifying, reaching the southern Appalachians by Sunday morning, April 15th, and then just south of western Long Island by Monday morning, April 16th.

- Flash Flooding and Hail in New York, July 23 to 24, 2008A stationary front extending from southern New England through the Delmarva region pulled eastward as low pressure developed along the boundary. As moisture pulled northward, heavy rain showers and thunderstorms developed, producing severe weather and flooding.

- Flooding and Heavy Rain in New York, April 2 to 3, 2005A low pressure system developed in the Gulf Of Mexico and rapidly intensified as it moved north to northeast. The low passed over the Appalachian Mountains and moved slowly west of the local area during Saturday and Sunday, April 2nd and 3rd.

Surface conditions became increasingly unstable during the afternoon with temperatures in the 80s and dewpoints in the 60s and lower 70s.

- Hail and Damaging Winds in New York, August 27, 2020A warm front pushed a very hot air mass into western New York. Temperatures soared to as high as 92 degrees at Dansville. Combined with dewpoints in the low to mid 70s, a very highly unstable environment developed with northwest flow aloft.

Out ahead of the remnants of Fred, a slow-moving frontal zone and tropical moisture spreading north ahead of Fred allowed for a pre-cursory heavy rainfall event on August 17.
