• Ice Storm in Louisiana, January 12 to 14, 19972 deaths · 15 injured · $12 million · 6 eventsA record ice storm hit southwest Louisiana and southeast Texas. The hardest hit area was Calcasieu Parish. Over 40,000 electric customers were without power for up to six days due to the number of downed trees and power lines.
