- Seiche in Indiana, August 10 to 11, 2020The initial gust front, associated with the derecho noted in a separate episode, passed over the Michigan City nearshore buoy (45170) around 4:40 pm CDT, with one foot waves being reported prior to the arrival of the storm.
- Seiche in Indiana, August 27, 2024The USGS gauge at Indiana Harbor Canal in East Chicago recorded water level fluctuations of up to 2 feet as severe thunderstorms occurred over southern Lake Michigan. Fluctuations began around 6 PM and continued through roughly 9 PM CST.
