- Waterspouts in Gulf of Alaska, December 3, 2007A blocking pattern occurred for Southeast Alaska in early December. A strong arctic high cell built over central Alaska on Sunday, 12/2 and moved slowly southeastward through Thursday, 12/6.
- Waterspouts in Gulf of Alaska, October 25, 2009Cold air aloft enhanced cumulus development over Stephens Passage and Frederick around midday on 10/25. Waterspouts persisted for at least two hours between Five Finger Light and Cape Fanshaw. Five different waterspouts were directly observed.
- Waterspout in Gulf of Alaska, February 8, 2008Strong high pressure built over the Yukon from 2/6 to 2/8. The high on Friday afternoon, 2/8 was 1046 millibars which moved the arctic front to Dixon Entrance. A moderate low was in the southwestern Gulf at the same time. Strong arctic outflow wind developed.
- Waterspout in Gulf of Alaska, August 1, 2009A waterspout was sighted by the pilot and a passenger in a small plane shortly after taking off from the village of Koyuk. The passenger shot a video segment while the plane was flying at 1000 ft.
- Waterspout in Gulf of Alaska, September 24, 2010A rapidly developing storm force low moved into the eastern Gulf of Alaska on the morning of Friday, September 24th. The storm center developed to 953 MB around 9 AM AKST and an associated, very strong front moved onto the south coast of the panhandle that Friday afternoon.
- Waterspout in Gulf of Alaska, November 1, 2010A major winter storm had explosive development well south of Kodiak on Halloween. The deepest that the storm got was 940 MB. On 11/1, a very strong front associated with this storm moved onto the coast of SE Alaska.
