- Heat in Georgia, July 20 to 31, 1999High temperatures in the 90s to low 100s combined with high relative humidities to produce heat indices of 100 to 110 degrees over north and central Georgia the last 10 days or so of July. Only on the 24th was there any significant rainfall during this stretch.

- Heat in Georgia, July 31, 2006The Rockdale Citizen and all of the major broadcast networks in Atlanta reported that a 15-year old high school football player died of heat exhaustion the day after an afternoon workout at the Rockdale County High School in Conyers.

- Heat in Georgia, August 1 to 5, 2006Intense heat wave began on August 1st and lasted through the 5th. Heat advisories and excessive heat warnings were issued throughout this period. During the peak afternoon hours, heat indices across the region averaged between 105 and 115 degrees.
- Heat in Georgia, June 1 to 30, 1998Temperatures were well into the 90s and occasionally exceeded 100 degrees throughout the month with heat indices near 110 degrees on several days. Rainfall was well below normal across southeast Georgia which caused the area to approach the incipient drought stage.
