- Heavy Rain in District of Columbia, June 7, 2003Showers and thunderstorms with heavy rainfall moved across the District during the morning of the 7th. Rainfall totals ranged from 2.25 inches in Northwest to 1.5 inches in Southeast. Saturated soil was blamed for downing a tree onto a car in Loughboro Road in Northwest.
- Storm Surge and Heavy Rain in District of Columbia, September 5 to 6, 1999The remnants of Hurricane Dennis moved across the Washington D.C. area from late on the 4th through midday on the 6th. Its legacy included periods of heavy rain, minor street flooding, wind gusts to 35 MPH, and minor tidal flooding along the Potomac River.
- Heavy Rain and Strong Wind in District of Columbia, December 16 to 17, 2000A strong cold front moved across the region around midday on the 17th. Ahead of the front, heavy rain fell from showers and thunderstorms. Washington Reagan National Airport reported 1.06 inches of rainfall.
- Damaging Wind and Heavy Rain in District of Columbia, May 22, 2001A thunderstorm that produced winds in excess of 55 MPH, frequent lightning, and heavy rainfall moved across the District between 6:30 and 8:00 PM EDT on the 22nd. High winds downed a tree and a few power lines across the city.
- Damaging Wind and Heavy Rain in District of Columbia, June 30, 2003A thunderstorm with high winds moved through the District just after midnight on the 1st of July (between 11 PM and midnight on the 30th of June in Eastern Standard Time). Three trees were downed by the storm in Northwest.
- Heavy Rain in District of Columbia, August 20, 1997A soaking rain put a dent into the summer drought on the 20th. The rain was the result of low pressure moving up the eastern seaboard. Rain totals across the metropolitan region ranged from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 inches. Washington/National Airport recorded 2.02 inches.
- Heavy Rain in District of Columbia, January 23, 1998Low- and mid-level flow of deep moisture, overrunning a chilly surface air mass, produced a prolonged period of moderate to heavy rain across the District of Columbia and immediate suburbs during the morning and early afternoon of the 23rd.
- Heavy Rain in District of Columbia, January 28, 1998A fairly intense and slow-moving nor'easter produced a large area of moderate to heavy rain across the Washington metropolitan area beginning late on the 27th and continuing through late afternoon on the 28th.
- Heavy Rain in District of Columbia, March 21, 2000Low pressure moved from the Ohio Valley on the 20th to the Mid-Atlantic region on the 21st. East winds ahead of the system ushered moist air into the region directly from the Atlantic Ocean.
- Heavy Rain in District of Columbia, September 2, 2000Slow moving thunderstorms dropped heavy rainfall across the District during the afternoon of the 2nd. A total of 2.47 inches of rain was recorded in Georgetown and a total of 1.65 inches fell at Washington National Airport.
- Heavy Rain in District of Columbia, September 24 to 25, 2000Showers and thunderstorms developed as a moist tropical airmass covered the region. Between midday on the 24th and the evening of the 25th, between 2 and 3.5 inches of rain fell.
- Heavy Rain in District of Columbia, August 1, 2000Scattered thunderstorms developed during the hot and humid afternoon of the 1st. These thunderstorms produced heavy rainfall across the District. A total of 1.60 inches of rain was recorded at the Dalecarlia Reservoir.
- Heavy Rain in District of Columbia, March 29 to 30, 2001Low pressure brought a period of heavy rainfall to the Mid Atlantic region between the morning of the 29th and the morning of the 30th. Rainfall totals included 1.61 inches at the National Arboretum and 1.49 inches at Washington Reagan National Airport.
- Heavy Rain in District of Columbia, June 15 to 16, 2001The remnants of Tropical Storm Allison brought periods of heavy rainfall to the District between the afternoon of the 15th and the evening of the 16th. A total of 2.59 inches of rain fell in Georgetown. Three other spotters nearby reported between 2.00 and 2.25 inches.
