Episode by episode
- Damaging Wind in South Dakota, May 7, 2022A line of severe thunderstorms developed over south central South Dakota, producing strong wind gusts over parts of Tripp County.
- Damaging Wind in Nebraska, May 7, 2022On May 7th, a cold front passed through far southwestern Nebraska, which allowed for isolated severe thunderstorms to develop in the area. These thunderstorms yielded wind gusts up to 70 mph within the area.
- Hail and Winter Weather in California, May 7 to 10, 2022An unseasonal cold upper-level trough and associated front moved through Northwest California. The system brought lower snow levels and post-frontal hail showers. Small hail covered roadways caused a couple of accidents.
- Hail and Lightning Strike in Iowa, May 8, 2022Overnight thunderstorms across Nebraska moved into Iowa in the early morning hours of May 8th. The nocturnal storms we fueled in part by the low level jet, and continued to be sustained by steady moisture transport across the area.
- Hail in North Dakota, May 8, 2022A short-wave trough moved through southwest flow aloft leading to thunderstorm development over the James River Valley. One storm became a low-top supercell thunderstorm, which produced one-inch diameter hail over Stutsman County.
- Tornado and Flash Flood in North Dakota, May 8 to 9, 2022A strong upper low, and the associated negatively tilted trough, led to the development of severe thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening of May 8. These storms persisted into the morning of May 9, producing severe wind, hail and tornadoes.
- Hail and Damaging Wind in Nebraska, May 8, 2022Strong thunderstorms moved across the Nebraska Panhandle on the evening of the 8th with a storm becoming severe across Box Butte County after 10 PM MDT producing ping pong ball sized hail and strong winds in excess of 80 mph from Alliance to Hemingford.
- Hail and Damaging Winds in Nebraska, May 8 to 9, 2022Thunderstorms developed over the northern Nebraska Panhandle and tracked across far northern Nebraska during the early morning hours of May 9th. Golf ball size hail and wind gusts to around 70 MPH were reported with the strongest storms.
- Hail and Damaging Winds in South Dakota, May 9, 2022Scattered thunderstorms developed in south central South Dakota the last half of the night, and moved northeast along the nose of a strong low-level jet toward east central South Dakota and southwest Minnesota after sunrise.
- Hail and Damaging Wind in South Dakota, May 9, 2022Hail, up to the size of golf balls in Garden City, was associated with a series of supercell storms that formed during the early morning hours of May 9th. Storms also produced winds up to 62 mph.
- Hail in Minnesota, May 9, 2022Scattered thunderstorms developed in south central South Dakota the last half of the night, and moved northeast along the nose of a strong low-level jet toward east central South Dakota and southwest Minnesota after sunrise.
- Hail and Damaging Winds in Minnesota, May 9, 2022During the morning of Monday, May 9th, a small complex of thunderstorms that developed across eastern South Dakota moved eastward and affected a large area of west-central, central and east-central Minnesota before moving into west-central Wisconsin late Monday morning.
- Hail in Minnesota, May 9, 2022A strong upper low, and the associated negatively tilted trough, led to the development of severe thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening of May 8. These storms persisted into the morning of May 9, producing severe wind, hail and tornadoes.
- Hail and Damaging Winds in Minnesota, May 9, 2022A low pressure system moving out of the Central Plains brought a warm front through northern Minnesota during the morning hours of the 9th. Supported by a strong low level jet and warm air pushing into the region, storms spread north through the morning hours.
- Tornado and Hail in Wisconsin, May 9, 2022The main severe storm that moved across portions of southern and central Minnesota, then moved across west-central Wisconsin and produced large hail, up to ping pong size, before weakening in northern Wisconsin. Strong winds damaged a number of farms.
- Hail in Wisconsin, May 9, 2022A low pressure system moving out of the Central Plains brought a warm front through Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin during the morning hours. Supported by a strong low level jet and warm air pushing into the region, storms spread north through the morning hours.
- Tornado in Florida, May 9, 2022Showers and thunderstorms developed in an area of convergence near the far upper Florida Keys as outflow from showers and thunderstorms over mainland south Florida moved southward.
- Hail in Michigan, May 9 to 10, 2022Thunderstorms developing along a frontal boundary turned severe, forming large hail over portions of central Upper Michigan during the late afternoon and evening of the 10th.
- Tornado and Hail in Minnesota, May 9, 2022A dry-line/cold front was moving across Minnesota during the afternoon of Monday, May 9th.
- Tornadoes and Hail in Wisconsin, May 9, 2022A dry-line/cold front that spawn a couple of tornadoes in eastern Minnesota, moved across west central Wisconsin during the evening and produced an additional three tornadoes, plus wind damage, and large hail.
- Hail and Damaging Winds in Minnesota, May 9, 2022A line of storms moved across southeast Minnesota during the evening of May 9th. These storms produced hail across portions of Wabasha and Olmsted Counties. The largest reported hail was half dollar sized in Lake City (Wabasha County).
- Hail in Iowa, May 9, 2022A line of storms moved across portions of northeast Iowa during the evening of May 9th. These storms produced some hail with up to golf ball sized reported near Mitchell (Mitchell County).
- Hail in Wisconsin, May 9, 2022A line of storms moved across portions of western Wisconsin during the evening of May 9th. These storms produced some hail and the largest reported was quarter sized north of Holmen (La Crosse County).
