- Excessive Heat in Arkansas, August 1 to 4, 2012This period of excessively hot weather began in late July and continued into early August 2012. Extremely hot temperatures and high humidity combined to produce dangerously hot weather conditions across portions of northwest and west central Arkansas.
- Excessive Heat and Heat in Arkansas, August 1 to 6, 2010Hot, humid weather prevailed in early August as high pressure aloft settled over Arkansas. Most reporting stations saw high temperatures rise to 100 degrees or greater, with a few highs reaching 106 to 108 degrees. The only exceptions were some of the higher elevations.

An ex NFL football player died of heat stroke on July 18, 2019. This was a result of the hot and humid conditions at this time.

The region was fed by warm, moist air from the Gulf, which elevated dewpoints and thus made heat-index values much higher than the actual air temperature alone.

Eventually, the ridge was centered over Mississippi, and extreme heat and humidity prevailed to close out July.

- Excessive Heat and Heat in Arkansas, June 12 to 18, 2022A large upper ridge prevailed across the region from mid-June through the end of the month resulting in very hot and humid conditions across the Mid-South. The heat was most intense on June 12th and 13th.
- Excessive Heat in Arkansas, July 3 to 4, 2024A strong upper ridge ridge covered the southern U.S. during early July. Meanwhile, moisture surged northward into the Mid-South ahead of an approaching cold front. Dewpoints climbed well into the 70s and afternoon heat index values topped 110 degrees across the Mid-South.
