Deaths and injuries are direct and indirect together, as the offices filed them. Damage is property and crops in the dollars of the year, not adjusted for inflation, and only where an office estimated it.

The final few days of July featured a cold front slowly approaching West Virginia and stalling overhead. While much of the area remained dry on July 30th, showers and thunderstorms formed along the mountains and made little progress during the afternoon. Scattered activity spread farther west into the lowlands during the evening and then fizzled out overnight. The next round of showers and storms developed along the Ohio River on the afternoon of the 31st and then spread east as the front trekked across the area late that day into the overnight hours. Once this commenced, the threat for unsettled weather diminished.
In Randolph County, one storm on the 30th produced two to three inches of rain over an area that had already received over an inch of precipitation earlier in the day. This led to flooding on one road in the southern part of the county. Another storm in Kanawha County rapidly produced over three inches of rain shortly before midnight, causing flooding along local roads and impacting nearby structures. In Harrison County, very heavy downpours on the 31st quickly deposited one to two inches of rain, which led to a few instances of flash flooding in Bridgeport.

Weston, moving southeast at 10 mph.

4 flash flood. Local standard time, as filed.
Up to three feet of water was observed across New Hope Road near Upper Pinch Road just north of Pinch. Water also entered houses and trailers in that area. The local fire department was dispatched to help move residents to higher ground.
High water issues and rock debris was observed along Holly Bush Road.
Flooding was observed on Pennsylvania Avenue in Bridgeport.
Flooding occurred along Johnson Avenue in Bridgeport.
