- Warmer temperatures mid-week.

- Low chances for showers and thunderstorms Thursday through Sunday.

.SHORT TERM...
(Today through Wednesday)
Issued at 110 AM CDT Tue Jul 29 2025

The subtropical ridge covers most of the southern US this morning
with weak upper flow over TX. At the surface, high pressure
centered over the Gulf has the low level flow over our CWA from
the south to southeast. The airmass is a little drier this
morning with dewpoints from the lower 60s to the middle 70s.
Skies across the region were mostly clear. The upper ridge will
dominate through the short term. Subsidence under the ridge will
keep skies mostly clear and the weather dry. High temperatures
today will be a couple of degrees warmer than yesterday, but
still within a couple of degrees of normal. Don't expect much
change into Wednesday. Highs Wednesday will be another couple of
degrees warmer with most of the area outside of the Hill
Country reaching 100 or higher. Dewpoints mostly in the 50s will
mean heat indices will be about the same as the temperatures.

&&

.LONG TERM...
(Wednesday night through Monday)
Issued at 110 AM CDT Tue Jul 29 2025

A weakness in the upper ridge will move across the northern Gulf and
into TX Wednesday night into Thursday. This will allow a surge
of deeper moisture to move into our extreme eastern counties and
producing a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms
Thursday afternoon. An upper level trough will dig down into the
southeastern US and bring a frontal boundary into northeastern
TX Thursday evening. This boundary will stall over that region
and generate showers and thunderstorms which could move into our
CWA Friday and Saturday afternoon and evening. The boundary
will get closest to our CWA Saturday and this will be the more
likely day for convection here. The deepest moisture and highest
POPs will be over our eastern counties, but rain chances will
spread to the Southern Edwards Plateau Saturday afternoon.
Sunday rain chances will retreat back to the east. By Monday the
subtropical ridge will build back over the region bringing back
dry weather.

IFR/MVFR CIGs are found mainly southeast of a KHDO to KRND to KGYB
line. Have KSSF with MVFR CIGs and KSAT with TEMPOs MVFR CIGs. The
CIGs mix and become FEW VFR later this morning, then VFR prevails
through Wednesday. Lower level flow creates unfavorable conditions
for low CIGs tonight into Wednesday morning. S to SE winds prevail,
except for SW to W overnight into Wednesday morning.
