While the boundary layer was relatively stable during this time, due to a significant warm layer centered around 700 millibars/1 km, widespread and intense damaging winds were observed with this thunderstorm.

Widespread precipitation chance/coverage, including potential for
scattered strong-to-severe thunderstorms this morning, remains the
main weather story for another day.

The high-amplitude western wave is beginning to slowly lift out
across Pecos Valley/Desert Southwest early this morning. In
advance, an embedded lead perturbation continues to instigate
widespread showers and thunderstorms across west/west-central
Texas. This coverage is forecast to expand and move northeastward
early this morning, with high chances for measurable rainfall at
all reaches of the forecast area through daybreak.

A few strong-to-severe thunderstorms are also likely, mainly south
of a Vernon TX-to-Seminole OK line. Activity looks to remain rooted
above ~700 mb, slightly higher compared to yesterday morning. Given
this, the main severe hazard should remain mainly large hail
(given strong deep-layer wind fields and sufficient elevated
instability).

There may be a brief lull in activity/coverage into the late morning-
early afternoon, as the early morning round moves east and an
additional area of coverage (beneath the cold low) remains across
the Texas Panhandle/Rolling Plains. Periods of drizzle may still
occur during this time given widespread low clouds/saturated
lower boundary layer.

The aforementioned secondary bout of precipitation is expected to
begin pivoting across western zones into the early evening,
evolving into central/northern Oklahoma through early Sunday
morning. As a pocket of -24 to -22-degree Celsius H5 temperatures
moves overhead, combined with modest cold air advection, a rain-
snow mix (and perhaps brief periods of all snow) are forecast
from the western Red River Valley into portions of
central/northern Oklahoma. This may begin near the 100th meridian
during the mid-morning on Saturday, but is most likely after
sunset/early Sunday morning. It still appears as though surface
conditions will be very marginal/unsupportive for impacts and
accumulation during this time, though minor accumulations will
be possible on grassy surfaces, especially across western
portions of the area.

Beyond precipitative weather, strong north/northeasterly winds are
expected through much of the day today, as a sharp pressure gradient
and low-level jet persist in response to an evolving surface cyclone
across the Ozarks. A Wind Advisory is now in effect for most of
the southern one-half of Oklahoma from 7 AM this morning until 7
PM this evening.

We will transition towards a period of lower impact weather by
Sunday into early next week. A somewhat widespread profile of
sub-freezing early morning lows are forecast on Sunday and Monday
mornings, most especially across central and northern Oklahoma.
Interests with sensitive vegetation should take precautions.

The persistent/slow-moving upper system will begin accelerating
to the east on Sunday, with a high-amplitude ridge beginning to
develop across the western CONUS. Cool (50s) and dry conditions
are expected on Sunday before a warming trend commences by Monday
(60s to near 70-degrees southwest).

A prolonged stretch of warm and dry sensible weather will emerge
through much of next week. A ridge-trough pattern is forecast
through much of the week across the CONUS, with northwesterly flow
across our area. This is likely to yield dry surface conditions
and warming conditions (70s to 80s) during the period.

the period. Showers and thunderstorms will once again move from
western north Texas into Oklahoma during the overnight hours and

affect all terminals through the period as well.
