As a result of the freezing rain, slick travel conditions existed during the morning commute. Travel advisories were issued by MnDOT for portions of south-central MN due to slippery roads.

The AWOS at New Ulm Municipal Airport reported two hours of light rain that froze on contact with the ground. A CoCoRaHS observer reported in Comfrey that a glaze of ice was on walkways and around their yard.

The AWOS at Owatonna Degner Regional Airport reported an hour of freezing precipitation which made for slippery travel conditions for the morning commute. A CoCoRaHS observer reported in Owatonna that their snowboard as glazed over with ice.
The AWOS at Glencoe Municipal Airport reported an hour of light rain, however it froze on contact with the ground. A CoCoRaHS observer reported that roadways were covered with Ice in Plato.

The AWOS at Faribault Municipal Airport reported an hour and a half of mixed precipitation which made for slippery travel conditions for the morning commute. A CoCoRaHS observer reported an icy glaze in Nerstrand and the Hwy 3 overpass in Northfield was very slippery.
The nearest AWOS located at the Mankato Regional Airport reported an hour of light rain, which made for slippery travel conditions for the morning commute. A CoCoRaHS observer 6 miles south of New Prague reported that freezing rain made roads incredibly slippery, sending cars into the ditch, which led to road closures.
The nearest AWOS at Glencoe Municipal Airport reported two hours mixed precipitation. A CoCoRaHS observer in Henderson reported a layer of ice on their snowboard.

A CoCoRaHS observer miles NNW of Howard Lake reported freezing rain occurring during the pre-dawn hours.
The AWOS at Litchfield Municipal Airport reported a short period of freezing rain. Icy conditions likely existed in the southern region of the county as nearby CoCoRaHS observers in NW Renville and NE McLeod Counties reported a light glaze of ice on horizontal surfaces.
The ASOS at Downtown Holman Field reported one hour of mixed precipitation. A CoCoRaHS observer reported gritty icing on horizontal surfaces in Shoreview.
A CoCoRaHS observer reported a tenth of an inch of ice accumulation on their snowboard in Woodbury.
The AWOS at Blaine Airport reported one hour of freezing precipitation between 5 and 6 AM. This caused slippery travel conditions for the morning commute.
