Deaths and injuries are direct and indirect together, as the offices filed them. Damage is property and crops in the dollars of the year, not adjusted for inflation, and only where an office estimated it.

.KEY MESSAGES...
- Dry weather expected today
- Isolated shower/storm chances return Thursday through Sunday,
mainly across higher elevations
- Warming trend begins later this weekend and especially early
next week
&&
.SHORT TERM /THROUGH THURSDAY/...
Issued at 121 AM MDT Wed Jul 23 2025
Early morning satellite imagery shows some mid/high clouds streaking
across the region this morning but these are forecast to break up as
we head into the mid-morning hours with skies expected to be mostly
clear for much of the day today. The system that brought some
slightly cooler temps and increased cloud cover is moving well to
the northeast of the area today with high pressure building in from
the south in its place. This should keep us mostly dry today as well
as a touch warmer. Hi-res CAMs are basically void of any convection
potential this afternoon. There is a very slight signal of perhaps a
very isolated shower/storm across the Island Park region or maybe
into the South Hills but this potential is running about 15 percent
or less. H5 heights continue to slowly rise into the day Thursday
with afternoon highs returning to their seasonal norms of right
around 90 degrees for most lower elevations. Seeing a bit more of a
signal in the hi-res models for some tstm potential Thursday
afternoon, namely across the far southern portion of the forecast
area close to the Utah border. Given low PWAT values, these will
likely be mainly dry thunderstorms but will carry a lightning and
gusty wind risk.
&&
.LONG TERM /THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY/...
Issued at 121 AM MDT Wed Jul 23 2025
The extended portion of the forecast looks to be mainly dry aside
from perhaps some high elevation showers/storms Friday and into the
weekend as a few weak upper level impulses move through the SW flow
aloft. Temps these days will run within a few degrees of seasonal
norms but then trend well above normal beginning Monday and
continuing into the middle part of next week as a strong area of
high pressure builds over the central U.S. We will reside on the
western of this but it looks to bring temps in to the mid to maybe
upper 90s across the lower valleys of eastern Idaho as we get into
early next week. As one might expect with such warm temperatures,
precip chances look bleak.

.AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z THURSDAY/...
Issued at 1127 AM MDT Wed Jul 23 2025
VFR conditions remain in place through Thursday. A few PM gusts
may approach 20kts during peak heating, otherwise winds turn
light and variable overnight into Thursday AM.
