.Marianas Synopsis...
Satellite and radar show partly cloudy skies and isolated showers
moving through the Marianas Waters. The buoys reveal combined seas of
3 to 5 feet, composed mainly of a east swell and wind wave, with a
decaying north to northeast swell barely showing up.

.Discussion...
The Marianas remain firmly in the iron grip of a dry season trade-
wind regime. Showers are expected to remain isolated and skies partly
cloudy for the next week, if not more.

&&

.Marine...
Seas are nearly bottomed out at 3 to 5 feet, and will now stay at
these levels through at least Thursday. They could then build 1 foot
for Friday through Sunday. Winds will be light to gentle through
Wednesday night then could build to gentle to moderate starting
Thursday. These are all benign conditions, so mariners can enjoy the
fair weather.

.Fire weather...
The KBDI is now 666 and expected to keep rising with no wetting rains
expected in the next week. For now the potential impact of this is
being reduced by the fact that the winds are below average, and
currently not high enough for critical levels. This is expected to
remain true through at least the forecast period, which will end next
Monday.

.Eastern Micronesia...
A band of trade-wind convergence remains over eastern Micronesia,
south of 5N. North of 5N, only spotty showers are evident. This dry
pattern looks to continue through the weekend and into next week,
with one exception. A trade-wind trough moving through the area south
of the Marshall Islands will bring a brief period of low-end
scattered showers to Kosrae on Wednesday, with the dry pattern
returning to Kosrae by Wednesday afternoon.

Marine conditions are not expected to change much. Combined seas will
remain at or below 8 feet for Majuro and around 6 feet for Kosrae and
Pohnpei.

.Western Micronesia...
A trade-wind trough is currently moving through Yap Proper and is
approaching the main islands of Palau. An embedded circulation within
the trough is south of Yap and is approaching Palau. Scattered
showers and isolated thunderstorms for Yap tonight. Showers increase
tonight for Palau and look to become numerous tomorrow as the
circulation passes just to the south. Gusty winds will be possible
near showers. A drier trade-wind pattern is expected for Yap by later
tomorrow as the troughs passes west, likely to continue for the rest
of the period. A near-equatorial trough (NET) looks to develop
southwest of Palau and will help keep showers scattered with isolated
thunderstorms through Friday. The NET will then shift further
southwest of Palau by the weekend, with mainly isolated trade showers
expected into early next week. For Chuuk, mainly isolated trade
showers expected for the period.

Moderate to fresh winds are expected for Yap and Palau tonight and
tomorrow as the circulation passes to the south. Some strong gusts
possible near heavier showers, especially for Palau. Thereafter,
gentle to moderate trade winds are expected. Combined seas are still
around 4 to 6 feet near Palau and Yap, dropping 1 to 2 feet Wednesday
night into Thursday as the trade swell and wind waves diminish. For
Chuuk, gentle to moderate trade winds and seas 4 to 6 feet could rise
slightly late week into the weekend as the trade flow increases.
